Pearl Auld Obituary

Pearl V. Auld, age 96, of Nashville, IL, formerly of Oakdale, IL, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Washington County Hopsital in Nashville, IL.

Pearl was born on January 1, 1922 in Oakdale, IL, the youngest daughter of Rae J. and Florence B. (Boner) Boyle. She grew-up south of Oakdale, IL and worked at the Oakdale State Bank following her graduation from Blackburn College.

On December 26, 1945 she married Charles Auld in Oakdale, IL and he preceded her to his heavenly home on October 24, 2013. Because of her love for the outdoors she worked alongside, stride for stride with Charles on the family farm. Pearl also loved gardening and growing beautiful flowers. She continued this love for growing and arranging flowers through her latter years and added to that a joy of bird watching from her sunroom windows.

Pearl was a member of the Oakdale Parade Committee, Farm Bureau, and a longtime member of the Oakdale Reformed Presbyterian Church until it disbanded and she and Charles then attended the Elkton Union Church, Elkton, IL. A most notable highlight in Pearl’s life was her love for family and friends. In addition, she was always available to assist with any Oakdale community project. Pearl and Charles loved visiting their many friends and family, both near and far. Pearl also enjoyed writing letters to everyone she knew, sharing family highlights and keeping up with what was going on in their lives.
