Dale Storck Obituary

Dale H. Storck, 80 of Plum Hill, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018 after a hard fought battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.  Dale spent the last three years of his life in North Texas with his daughter Gloria Beuseling.

Dale was born on September 16, 1938 in Plum Hill, the son of Fred and Frances Zotz Storck.  After graduation from the University of Illinois, Dale married Vernita Boester on July 28, 1961 at Olive Branch Lutheran church in Okawville.  They moved to Northern Illinois and lived in Sugar Grove for nearly 50 years, where they raised their two children; Roger and Gloria.

A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Dale also dedicated time to his church and community. He loved to ride his John Deer Tractors in community parades.  He also loved to garden and plant trees.  He worked very hard with the Arbor Day Foundation to ensure that Sugar Grove is designated as a “Tree City USA”.  In 2001, Dale donated 40 acres of wooded land to Washington County.  It was named Storck Woods.  It was the hope that generations of families and school children in the area could learn and appreciate the outdoors.

Dale is survived by his children:  Roger Storck and wife Kris of Sugar Grove, IL and Gloria Beuseling and her husband Marty of Rockwall, TX; Four grandchildren; Jenna Wallace, Rebecca Ackmann, Trevor Storck and Jessica Storck.  Great granddaughter: Oaklynn Ackmann; and a sister: Corine Engele and husband George of Nashville, IL.  Three other special people in Dale’s life include Michael Wallace, Beck Ackmann and Jordan Phillips.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife Vernita.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 5, 2018 at Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville.  A private burial will follow at St. John’s UCC cemetery in Plum Hill.  Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Research.  Online expressions of sympathy may be made at www.styningerfuneralhomes.com or on the funeral home’s Facebook page.
