Robert Dean James 71 of Beaucoup, passed away at 6:46 p.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at SSM Good Samaritan Health Center in Mt. Vernon.  He was born on November 10, 1944 in East St. Louis, the son of Ralph V. And Alma Barbara Coziar James.  He married Kathryn M. Davis on January 5, 1963 in Waterloo and she passed away on May 20, 2011.  He was also preceded in death by his parents.  Left to mourn his passing are 2 sons; Robert Dean James, II and wife Elizabeth of Mt. Vernon and R.V. James and wife Kristi of Imperial, MO.  2 daughters; Kalyn Dalman and husband Joe of DuBois and Beth James-Leff and husband Lance of Statham, GA.  A sister; Janet Brown of Collinsville.  7 grandchildren; Alan and Cory Middleton, Nicole Cooper, Daniel, Lola and Madelyn James and Kathryn Leff.  A great granddaughter; Elizabeth Cooper and 2 step grandchildren; Drew and Dayton Dalman.

Mr. James was a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He was a banking finance officer for many years and was the former owner/operator of West Side Cleaners in Nashville. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and order of the Shrine. Bob was a boy scout leader for Troop 127 in Nashville for many years.  He enjoyed singing, watching sports and his grandchildren’s many athletic activities as well as spending time with his family.

A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22^nd at Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville with Pastor Paul Davis officiating.  Burial will be held at a later date at Beaucoup Cemetery.  There will be a memorial gathering from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested and may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children or the family.
