Mildred A. Lueking 105 of Hoyleton, passed away at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Friendship Manor Health Center in Nashville. She was born on April 12, 1912 in Hoffman, the daughter of August and Emma Obermeier Kroeger. She was baptized on May 12, 1912 by Rev. Paul Lehman and confirmed on March 28, 1926 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton by Pastor Alfred Fuehler. She married Alfred Lueking on June 6, 1937 in Hoyleton and he preceded her in death on February 19, 2007. Also preceding her in death were her brother; Richard (Anna) Kroeger and 2 sisters; Ella (Adolph) Rebstock and Lilly (Walter) Eickmeyer. Mildred is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lueking was a homemaker and member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton where she was active in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Ladies Aid, served many years as the Sunday School secretary/treasurer and was proud to be the oldest member of the congregation and last living member of her confirmation class.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton with Rev. Nathan Wollenberg officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested and may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Sunday School or a charity of the donor’s choice. Styninger Funeral & Cremation Chapel in Hoyleton is in charge of arrangements.
