Linda E. Schierbecker, age 104, of Swansea, Illinois formerly of Hoffman, Illinois, passed away at 3:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Aviston Countryside Manor in Aviston, Illinois.  She was born on July 5, 1911 in Washington Co. on a farm near Hoyleton, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Emma (Lampe) Schaeffer.  She married Albert Schierbecker on September 2, 1929 at Hoyleton Lutheran Church and he preceded her in death on August 26, 1991.  In addition to her husband of 61 years, she was preceded in death by her parents, son; Robert Schierbecker,  2 granddaughters; Sherry Schiebecker and infant Lucille Ann Maschhoff; 6 brothers; William Schaeffer, Paul Schaeffer, baby Walter Schaeffer, Edwin Schaeffer, Albert Schaeffer and Alvin Schaeffer, and 4 sisters; Laura Johaningsmeyer, Ella Maschhoff, Rosina Rae and Adele Cerutti.

Left to mourn her passing is her two daughters; Eunice (Ed) Greiman of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina and Lucille (Lloyd) Maschhoff of Belleville, Illinois; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter.

Mrs. Schierbecker was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton, Illinois, where she was baptized on July 23, 1911, by Pastor Albert Groercik and was confirmed in 1924 by Pastor Alfred Fuehler.  She was a member of the Trinity Ladies Aid.  She was also a member of the Washington County Bureau, and for many years she was a member of the Clinton County Home Extension and Hoffman Day Home Extension.

Mrs. Schierbecker was a homemaker who lived with her husband on their farm near Hoyleton, Illinois for most of their married life.  In 1967, when her husband Albert retired from farming, they moved to Hoffman, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton, Illinois with Pastor Timothy Mueller officiating. Burial will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Hoyleton, Illinois.  Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until service time on Wednesday at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton, Illinois or Lutheran Hour Ministries.  Online expressions of sympathy may be made at www.styningerfuneralhomes.com.  Styninger Funeral & Cremation Chapel in Hoyleton is in charge of arrangements.
