Leslie Earl “Sarg” Winfree, 88 of Louisville, KY formerly of Nashville, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016 in Louisville.

Les retired as a Sgt. with the United States Army where he was a cook.  He served during WWII, Korea and Vietnam.  He then went to work for Louisville Gas and Electric Co.

He was preceded in death by his first wife; Gladys Winfree and second wife Margaret.  Left to mourn his passing are 2 brothers; Raymond and Robert Winfree and a sister; Alice Lawhorn.  A nephew; Don Winfree, daughter in law; Brenda Deacon, 2 step daughters; Barbara Blankenship and Debbie Coley.  Also surviving are several grand and great grandchildren.

Friends may call from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Owen Funeral Home in Louisville, KY. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2016 at Greenwood Cemetery in Nashville with Rev. Scott Sharp officiating.  Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of local arrangements.
