Katie Rose Spenner Brown 27 of Springfield formerly of Nashville, passed away at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born on December 22, 1988 in Breese, the daughter of Steven and Cynthia Harvey Spenner. She married Kevin M. Brown on September 27, 2014 in Hoyleton and he survives her passing. Also surviving are her parents of Nashville, grandparents; Virgil and Elaine Spenner of Hoyleton. 2 sisters; Erin Spenner of Springfield and Emily Spenner of Nashville. Her father and mother in law; Kenneth and Jackey Brown of Irving and her sister in law; Evelyn Schmitt of Hillsboro. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents.
Katie was a graduate of Nashville Community High School and Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. She worked in patient registry at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield and enjoyed music, reading, crafts and crocheting.
A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at St. John Lutheran Church in New Minden with Rev. Timothy Mueller officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Hoyleton. A memorial gathering will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday in the Fellowship Hall of St. John Lutheran Church in New Minden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested and may be made to Nashville Community High School Library or NCHS Music Booster’s. Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements
