Allen L. Schmale 84 of Nashville formerly of Okawville, passed away at 6:35 a.m. on Monday, March 27, 2017 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.  He was born on February 12, 1933 in Addieville, the son of Arnold and Leona Becker Schmale.  He married Lorraine M. Loyet on July 19, 1952 in St. Louis County and she passed away on September 7, 2016.  Also preceding him in death were his parents, a son in law; Mark Kuzemka, a grandson; Lucas Heckert, 2 brothers; Carlos and Charles Schmale and 2 sisters; Carol McVey and Betty Dikeman.  Left to mourn his passing are 2 sons; Arnold (Cynthia) Schmale of St. Libory and Allen K. (Lisa) Schmale of Columbia. 3 daughters; Judy (Lloyd) Johnson of Houston, TX, Michelle (Kevin) Heckert of Venedy and Rene Kuzemka of St. Charles, IL. 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  3 brothers; John (Betty) Schmale of Fredricktown, MO, Robert Schmale of Belleville and David Schmale of Branson, MO.  2 sisters; Marietta Magnus of St. Louis and Jane Varga of Michigan.

Allen was the founder of Schmale Financial Services, retiring in 2010.  He was a member of the St. Peter United Church of Christ in Okawville where he previously served on the church council.  He was a former member of the Okawville Village board where he was instrumental in bringing the Dairy Queen to town, he served on the Board of South Central Transit and was a former Washington County Republican precinct committeeman.  He was a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Round Table and served on numerous other financial service organizations.  Allen enjoyed reading and especially spending time with his family and grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville with Rev. Jeffrey Schwab officiating.  A private family interment will be held at the St. Peter UCC cemetery in Okawville.  Friends may call from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions are suggested and may be made to St. Jude’s or Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospitals or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
